What is your name?

My name is Diane Robinson.

Describe yourself in 3 to 5 words.

61 year old, happy grandmother.

How did you discover your skin cancer / melanoma / skin condition and how long ago?

2 years ago I noticed a red spot below my neck. My GP checked it and froze it... twice. It reappeared and I became concerned. Biopsy returned with a diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma. It scared me. I have fairly extensive sun damaged skin from not being sun smart and I also not sun aware when I was younger.

What is your attitude towards sun protection today?

Nowadays I am proactive with my sun protection. It's never too late. Since that day I searched for good protective and wearable clothing. Now every day I wear my 'uniform' consisting of a Solbari polo shirt and legionnaire hat. I have 3 tops which I rotate!

What would you tell your 16-year-old self about sun protection?

Knowing what I know now, I would wear sunscreen, long sleeves and sunscreen tops every day. As I do now. You only get one chance to look after your skin. Protect it. Australia is so aware of our damaging sun and thank you to Solbari for giving us a great variety of clothing to help minimise the effects.

Happy customer Diane.

Thank you Diane for helping raise awareness for skin cancer, melanoma and skin conditions, and sharing your story with us and our Solbari Community.
